Problem with navigating on site with iPad

Post by sjors » October 23rd, 2016, 3:35 am

I'm not sure if you're the right place for this subject, but maybe it can pass it passed through.
Since a couple of days I have a problem with the site when using an iPad. Trying to click on page numbers greater than 99 brings up a menu instead of navigating to the page.
I.e. If go to viewforum.php?f=3 , and on subject "What Training Have You Done Today?", clicking on the last number 923 gives me this iPad menu instead of going to that page.
For now I just navigate to the first page and use there the link to the last page.

It's a bug in the forum software and it won't be fixed.

Does somebody dislike iPads, bug-reports or open source software?

It won't be fixed by moaning on the forum. Write an email to rowing@concept2.com

The whole world knows that PHPBB3 is a pile of brown steaming stuff, but the whole world lives with it as their forum software of choice. It's ugly, it doesn't work on any tablet or phone because it was designed before tablets and phones became so common.

Your call to work that one out.

I think that was a perfectly legit question by sjors. And there are several mobile-friendly themes for PHPBB out there, so no reason not to adapt.
Always grumpy. SJors won't get a new theme without sending an email to the folks who install and maintain the software.

I have send the mail.
Strange thing is, that it just started to occur.
Maybe the newest ios has introduced the issue.

That sort of problem is common with system changes.

It is not a bug of iOS but of Chrome on iOS. Chrome somehow shows extra boxes that interfere normale Navigation.
When I use Safari everything works normal.
I will inform concept ...although I doubt they read their mail...

???? I have found them to be very receptive. In particular, c2jonw often posts on this forum and often responds to forum posts regarding monitor problems and erg problems in general. A PM to him is the surest way to get this kind of information.

At the same moment I reported the issue at Google. And today, after downloading the latest update of Google Chrome on the iPad, the issue is solved. Quite a quick response for such a huge company. :!:
