Rejecting the robots - stopping the SPAM.

http://www.projecthoneypot.org/5days_wednesday.php looks like something you may want to investigate to stop the robots before they even attempt to access the registration page.

Spookily enough I was just reading that before checking the forum. It does sound like a good resource, though I'd like it to get chimp-level simple for us to implement :)

Add to this certain people are spamming with personal attacks, where anything useful is destroyed in such threads.

Perhaps the mods could remove any messages that contain personal attacks, and continued removals could result in removal of the posters.

Similar was done on the UK forum and I think most people agree that it helped.

If you find anything deeply offensive send me a PrivMsg with a link to it or post a link on here. I'm reluctant to remove items as that could be seen as censorship of free speech. I'd guess that profanity could be removed or edited to ****s (not that there's much (any) of that on here).

Folks should either take their arguments to the "Rants and Raves" section or should exercise some decorum.

I'm more interested in eviscerating the transient snake oil spammers than amending items from well known rowers.

Not on this forum. It's working on the UK Forum.
