MUST READ for all lurkers
MUST READ for all lurkers
We currently have approximately 14,130 registered users, only 1757 of whom have posted anything. I'm sure some of those are people who use their login to keep track of posts without posting themselves (which is totally fine), but I'm guessing most are spam users.
To help get things under control I'm going to start deleting users soon. I'll try to be careful not to delete legit users, but if you've never posted before please reply here - I'll then be able to see a post against your username and will know to leave it alone. If you don't, then no guarantees!
Cheers, Paul

I'd also scrutinise the users who've only ever posted once on the day they joined.PaulH wrote: To help get things under control I'm going to start deleting users soon. I can't get rid of that useless thread as I don't seem to be able to exercise my moderator powers in that section of the forum.
Yeah, I saw that user, but right now there's nothing spammy in his profile, and he's not done anything wrong. My guess is he's a spammer, but I'm erring on the side of generosity at the moment. We are now down to around 4,600 users (excluding the [old] users) from the 14,130 that we had at the start of the thread, so I'm pretty happy

new guy
actually bought first erg in 70's a bike wheel one and am on my third. I am single sculler and row a Peinert, have the original and a new one. Winters are too long. I have full spectrum lights over erg and mirrors on the wall but takes super motivation. On water I row most days and am trying to row more erg miles ! Happy to find the group
