Using LiveRowing Cable with iOS External Accessory Framework

Post by coach bergenroth » April 23rd, 2019, 1:37 pm

I am trying to figure out how to get an iOS app ( written in SWIFT 4) to send CSAFE commands to the PM monitor via the LiveRowing cable and I am stuck (I have contacted LiveRowing, but no response so far). I am using the External Accessory framework provided by Apple.

When I run the app, it can "see" the cable, but does not see the PM monitor. Additionally, I am having trouble sending any bytes (CSAFE) commands to the cable and getting any response. I have tried to find some online examples but can't seem to find any. Is there an external accessory protocol I am missing in the info.plist file?

Does anyone know how this all works, i.e. does my app "talk" to the cable and then the cable takes things from there? Does anyone have any sample code, to help me get started or over this challenge. I have the SDK so trying to reverse engineer with little luck.

Thanks in advance.
