Online Logbook for 3rd Party Applications
Online Logbook for 3rd Party Applications
Does C2 have reservations about opening their API for the Online Logbook to third party developers? If not, would it be possible to get some documentation for how to use it? Info on how Passwords and RequestDigests are encoded and used would be helpful.
Thanks,
James

I think I understand the spirit of the original reply. C2 obviously has a database. It no doubt includes peoples' personal information such as e-mail addresses. Asking them to expose some of that database to the public while not revealing information that would anger their customers doesn't offer much upside to C2.

I guess I was a bit terse, but Doug's post is aligned with what I was thinking.
It didn't take too long to put something together using screen scraping, but obviously that's a solution that's a bit frail. I used fairly strict TDD so at least I have unit tests to readily identify where changes are causing problems.

We've asked for a WEB 2.0 RESTful API for the C2 logbook on many occasions, they haven't yet developed a beta one for us to try let alone published a generally available one.
But, there is an unofficial API - see http://c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=9814
I don't work for C2. Remember they're a hardware company not a web development company so opening up their logbook database to us may not be highest on their list of priorities.
