Stroke Interval feature?

Hello,

I've recently been following a daily workout program that varies each day's workout. So far I've been able to configure my pm5 for the various intervals based on time and distance but this program has a day where you perform six intervals of 10 strokes at maximum effort followed by a slow paddle for a few minutes. I'm not sure what the pros think of this sort of workout (it's only one day of six weekly workouts).

Would this type of Interval feature be something you might want to add to the pm5?

No chance, that's no a workout that anyone else does.

Actually, I disagree. Workouts based on stroke counts are pretty common on the water because if you don't have a speedcoach in your boat, it's almost the only way to do intervals. So workouts like
10 on / 10 off / 20 on / 20 off / 30 on / 30 off / 20 on / 20 off / 10 on

Are pretty common. On the erg they are much less common because you have time and distance right there.

But if there was a survey for new capability in the PM, I would definitely put my vote in for a stroke count display, and an option under intervals for strokes in addition to time and distance.

I'm a newbie so I'm looking for advice from the experienced rowers. As for this exercise, it's definitely a strength test that I've got to believe can't be a bad exercise to do once and awhile. For my current routine this only occurs once a week. For those who are interested, here's the website I found the 12-week program specifically for the C2 rower:
