Hi everyone,

I have seen people quoting their 'single pull' in their stats- is this the distance in metres?

I am also interested in the power generated as I am a track cyclist and it is all about power!

I can generate 560 watts on the erg and keep this up for a minute- is this reasonable?

Over my PB for the 1k I average 370 watts = 3.22.6 mins.

How should I be working on my power or should I just worry about pace?

Jon Wilkinson-Lockyer -6'-3'' 93 kilo 37 years.
1k=3.22.2
2k=6.58.2
5k=18.24.5
10k=39.09.1
60 mins=14800m
30 mins=8067m.

A 1:25.5 pace for a minute is fine, continue for the 25.5 seconds to get all the way to 500M and you will be pretty high in the rankings for your category too.

QUOTE

Over my PB for the 1k I average 370 watts = 3.22.6 mins.

How should I be working on my power or should I just worry about pace?

Just understand that the "watts" figure being displayed is the Avg watts for that particular stroke. This is a lot different than cycling watts since cycling is more continuous input rather than litterally coasting about 2/3 of the time.

QUOTE

Jon Wilkinson-Lockyer -6'-3'' 93 kilo 37 years.
1k=3.22.2
2k=6.58.2
5k=18.24.5
10k=39.09.1
60 mins=14800m
30 mins=8067m.

You're a big boy for a cyclist, probably not much point in getting that super light bike for you. 8)
I did a bit of road racing, and at 235lbs I'd just say "see ya on the downside" to the guys built for it as we approached the hills. I could usually catch them in about 6 times the hill length, but couldn't shake them out of the draft.

Wecome to the fray.

Thanks Paul - very helpful! I thought I was a bit on the big side! Can you get to a track? It really levels the playing field against those small light whippets!

Thanks for the tips.
Jon
