The record that Ms. Balmary broke was itself set during national team testing. Several other records that are currently published were also set during national team testing.

-bill

I was on my honeymoon during the normal team selection trials, and couldn't make them. So I had one of the coaches at my club (and a USIR official) give me a test, in hopes that this would be good enough for C2.

At no time was I trying for the National Team selection.

It sucks that it doesn't officially count, but waddagonnado?

Dwayne

If so, it is the same as Joan's trial this year. If not, then it's like Rangers trial a couple years back, except that you don't whine about it.

Well, just doitagain. I suppose you could video tape it.

It was simply a test that I had one of the club coaches witness (plus a number of bystanders).

Since it wasn't at the USIRT trials, then it didn't count as a time toward making the USIRT.

I just want to commend Dwayne on being such a good example of good sportsmanship. To accept his WR row not being counted although it was witnessed, and to not whine about it, is to be commended. If we had more professional athletes with that attitude, then we would not hear about them doing all the bad things!

Congrats to all who have pushed themselves to their limits. I will most likely never row a WR, but my PB is something I am proud of!

Darren
