George,

I was planning to keep this to myself but going public leaves no hiding ground so you will have a lot to answer for this year.

Having started rowing again a couple of months ago my goals for 2005 are

3 million meters (which ensures I must do a lot of regular training) and

first Marathon (did first HM yesterday).

sub 7:00m 2k.

continue to "enjoy" my rowing

Here is to a good 2005!

Times are not important to me anymore. My goal is to just enjoy my rowing as much as I am at the moment.

Sir Pirate
My goal is to also to keep enjoying rowing. Even when the times come that i don't row a PB every time i sit on the machine. Last thursday was the first time since i row that i didn't PB on 500m. It was only 1 tenth of a second slower.

But i know from other sports that it's difficult to keep the fun when the times don't improve. So that's why it's my goal to keep the fun in rowing.

Maarten, if I recall correctly you will have your 40th birthday this month sometime. I think you will continue to find things fun as you see your rankings in your new age category.

Today I decided to "learn how to run"... that may sound weird but I want to be able to actually run a few miles before Navy rowing camp in June... running shoes were on the items to bring list so I figue I better get my butt in gear and start running.

Under 8min2k... it's exactly 8min now so I want to go down about 10seconds.

Train daily... no more excuses although most of those are homework. I'll have to actually use my studyhall not take a walk.

These goals are mostly to get in shape for camp... I registered this week, not as "new year resolutions"

~Sara~

"Row till you die... then power 10"
"Life's short... row hard"
My only real goal at the moment is to get back on the rower and keep at it, as currently I am in danger of letting it slide as just another of my 'phases' (and I have been through a lot of phases/fads over the years).

In order to give me something to aim at, I've set a target of 5 million metres for the calendar year, an average of less than 14k per day which is easily attainable for me as long as I can be arsed to use the machine. =)

First, I'm going to lay off the booze... before 0630.

Second, I'm not clicking on one of CAROLE MAC's links again. CAROLE, they're CHILDREN. You should be ashamed...

Third, I'm going to wax the back and keep it waxed. There's just no excuse these days.

And lastly, I'm going to stop posting to this forum. Or at least get a new screen-name (Cause gorow9 has probably gotten wise that this one is stalking her).

Best wishes for the new year,

Joe

1) Learn to row properly, try and find someone who can review my technique and offer advice
2) Improve all my PBs , should do that as I have only just started
3) Specifically try and do a 7:20 2K which would be a 23 second improvement
4) Build some better biceps, a measly 28.5cm and 30cm now
