DUCKS IN A ROW TEAM ROOM-Year Round
Hi All, Ducks in a Row is a virtual team for all women indoor rowers. No matter how long you have been rowing, no matter how fast or slow you may be, Ducks in a Row, welcomes you. All the meters you log in your personal Concept2 logbook will accrue to the virtual team of your choice and move the team up in standings. If you are already a member of this ongoing team, let's use this team room to communicate between team members. If you would like to join this team, please see the post at the top of the Women's Forum. If you are rowing for Ducks & Friends Together in the January Virtual Team Challenge, see the Team Room set up just for that Challenge. Let's encourage each other to keep rowing, healthy and fit. denise aka Surf Scoter
Welcome all Ducks! I think posting here is a great idea. Hope to see many posts here listing problems, accomplishments, and anything rowing or exerclse related. I email many of the Ducks in a Row members a news letter on Sundays with stats for the week. I only track the stats of the top 30 to 40 people but if you are a member of the Ducks and would like to be added to the email list, just send me a personal message with your email address and I will add you to the list. GO DUCKS!!

Hi folks,
I signed up for the January Challenge, and hope to get enough meters under my belt to pass my 4,000,000 mark. See you in the JC DAFT virtueal gym!

Hi
Hi Grams, It's great to see you back. You gave me some good rowing advice last year--on stroke rate. thanks. Go for that 4 million! That's fantastic. Thanks for joining the team. denise
I haven't been rowing because I was afraid that it would do more damage to my spine, but a few weeks ago I got the bad news-good news from my new orthopedic surgeon.
If I want to 'cure' my sciatica (caused by arthritis) I would have to have a spinal fusion of about 6 vertebrae and basically not be able to bend much. Scary. Plan B is to get back in shape and keep moving and hope that building up my core muscles will alleviate the sciatic pain.
The good news: rowing won't hurt my back unless I get carried away! So, slow and steady and keep good form. I'm really glad I did my marathons and set some good times several years ago. Now I can just enjoy rowing. it sure beats surgery.
