It's great to have a yard full of trees...except when the leaves fall. Then it is the Danger Zone. I have two large golden retrievers, and they leave puppy land mines. When those leaves fall indiscriminately as they do, EVERY step is like rolling the land mine dice. So, today I cleaned up leaves, and more leaves....and what was under the leaves. Sorry for the delay in posting, but the other chore had to happen! Eeeeew. I did capture the meters early in the day. And welcome back to Smokin' Joe.

Season meters as of 175/365 = 53,716,992 m

Total meters on the day = 506,535 m

Turns out that Avogadro also had something to say about the volume of leaves in a yard, independent of its size or shape. But I think his calculations may not have factored in the puppy land mines.
Image

So now you have me half-considering 23 days of "602" rows. I think I'll ask my friend Avogadro here for a tail wag for Yes. What's up, Avogadro? Is that a No? Thank you. Thank you.

Image Welcome back for the 2014 rowing season, Princess Anais. Always good to see returning teammates! Hope it is a good school year for you, too.

Hooboy! Those Boston bats were on fire yesterday! Although, former Rockies player (had to get that in there) Matt Holliday belted a good homer over that green monster ! What will today bring....will it be the 10th world series game win in a ROW for Boston or will the Cardinals rally?! Either way, think that young pitcher Wacha is definitely one to watch!

With today's Astrogator posting, that's too many "Avogadro" references for me to ignore. Sadly, after consulting Wiki for enlightenment, I have to 'fess that I'm none the wiser ... mols and atoms; with X endings, yet to be agreed upon. Mrrmph! I think I prefer vanilla. The dog's cute, though.

"They're creepy and they're kooky, all together ooky..." and so goes the theme song of The Addams Family. Happy Haunting!

There were two monster-themed tv series from 1964 to 1966, The Munsters and The Addams Family. The Munsters featured Frankenstein monster Herman Munster, a "regular kind of guy" just trying to make an honest living...and not sure why the neighbors were so weirded out by his family! The Addams Family featured the wealthy Gomez, wife Morticia, Uncle Fester and Lurch the giant butler ...and Thing (was just a hand...eeek), and Cousin Itt..... Odd that there were two monster-y kinds of shows back in THOSE days...and they are considered so tame compared to The Walking Dead and other zombie types of current shows. Zombies sure win out on the ugh! factor.

But I digress, as usual. We have our own Halloween celebration in Concept2 land...

Hi All,

Just touching "base" again - have missed so much in the intervening months, however it is great to drop in and see the inspiration is still pumping through this forum. I am trying to be more regular with my erging (short distances only K2 - nothing "stellar" about them...), however I know that work and holidays will continue to interrupt (or provide convenient excuses!).
Anywho, hi to all the "regulars"! :D

Cheers from Oz (now in sunny Qld),
Dave
