Calamity wrote:Greetings Lunatics - It has now become 2018 for about half the world and is approaching GMT. Several drinks have been served or are awaiting you at 10 forward this New Years. A lot of champaign has been ordered. This year a flight of Japanese whiskey is shared in honor of George Takei. Now Romulan Ale, as you well know, is the Star Trek equivalent of Cuban cigars here in America. IT only appears in virtual form as the replicators can not make it. Oddly enough, Amazon sells an energy drink version but I m not sure this would qualify with true Romulans as they drink it just to prove they can. Absinthe (the green fairy) appears floating in space as this is my choice of beverage this year. (Woodworm be damned!) The flywheel makes a great blended and you can grate things on the chain if it is pulled fast enough. Cheers to all and wishing you a happy and healthy 2018!
Champagne (both virtual and real) is flowing freely... a wonderful beverage! Seeing that pretty much the rest of our LunaTic world has already crossed into 2018, and I'm feeling very left behind and impatient ... I'll live dangerously and join you, Guinan, with a shot of absinthe. We have a bottle that has lasted for years (a few drops at a time in a Sazerac), so I'll help it on its way. We have the legal absinthe, considerably less wormwood than in the Eastern European spirit, so all should still be well, tomorrow.

Happy New Year and Many Orbits !!

Guinan's presentation of our virtual drinks is always a surprise - well done, once again, and THANK YOU!! Champagne was flowing freely here in the Rocky Mountains, along with a few other beverages.

The Virtual Team Challenge has begun! Power up!

Norma 18,094 m ...wowzer!

Yesterday's non-palindromic total brought me to 9,000,009 meters lifetime (just 1MM away from the sweatshirt) :-).

And with over 40K in the Challenge column after just two days, I'd say Shaun is making big inroads in that last million. You will wear that sweatshirt quite proudly.

Hi All,

quick question since i am totally new to Team on the Erg.

Is anyone welcome to join your Team or is there a type of "approval"? I am a novice rower - my shape is bad as well - still would love to add a couple of meters to the Team.

Thanks for the feedback. Cheers.

To join the team on a year round basis (we can "see" your meters and celebrate them daily that way), you will need to go into your profile and scroll down to where it says Affiliations - then select Luna-Tics. Of course, you can join the Virtual Team for just the Challenge...but we don't track the meters the same way. Either way, we welcome all teammates!

Welcome to the team David you made a great choice - but then again I am bias... everyone is a great teammate and willing to help out best they can. We have a lot of comrodory here and a lot of good information passed along. You will be glad you decided to join us I promise.

Good luck on your goals - work slow and it will all come together.

Happy Rowing,
Ed
