Following the everyday ritual of newspaper retrieval by Ball Girl Kai, is another tradition....reading the comics. While I usually highlight Bizarro or Speedbump, sometimes there's an oldie favorite that generates a belly laugh or a snort. My sense of humor is diverse. Today's hahaha comes from Pickles, featuring Opal and Earl, by cartoonist Brian Crane. Ask your newspaper syndicate to carry this one! PS - newspaper retrieval requires an actual, physical newspaper...but digital ones have their place.

BG has already exceeded the 21000 required meters, since 21000 meters equals 13.049 miles and she ran 20 miles. She therefore does not need to run any more. Congratulations BG. TOM (Tombeur)

Image Updated! We have ELEVEN Lunies on the Honor Board! Add Ron to the list of finishers!

The mowing goats are back at a nearby regional park aka Wildlife Refuge. Bordered by an electric fence, they munch happily through the tall grasses, weeds and other brambly types of things...and they are much quieter than the big mowing machines that couldn't operate in the uneven terrain anyway. A little dose of farm happiness for a couple of weeks. :D

Sometimes you just have to make the best of a crummy situation! Insurance adjuster people have flocked to this corner of Colorado in response to the hailstorm that lasted all of 8 minutes on Monday last. In fact, they even work on Sundays...and some of them were up on my rooftop early today followed by hail damage estimates to my vehicle for the afternoon activity. Sigh. New roof, and 31-50 dimples to repair. Wasn't exactly what I was planning to do for the weekend, but at least there is insurance coverage for this mini-catastrophe. All this unplanned activity delayed me.

The ice missiles were truly bruisers if you were hit by them. I ran out into the incoming barrage to throw a foam dog bed onto the hood of my vehicle, and ouch! The dogs were inside, and found the thunder booms a little distressing (and the obvious distress of their human didn't give them comfort either). This was offset by their fascination with all those ice cubes that were right there. The dogs, being Goldens, wanted to eat all those ice cubes that were in their yard... in fact, I had to bring them back in before they got hailstone gut (which I think is sort of like Gatorade gut when you drink too much of it...same result).
