Not sure that I've ever seen weather conditions just labeled Blizzard like this screenshot from this AM. Snowmageddon. Still winter. Steady rain for several hours now. Mud season for certain. Hang on to yer hat.

Image Day 13 of 31...

Rats. Unforeseen circumstances forced a shorter erg session yesterday, so I've "burned" a day at the 10K level. Still, that's is why you guard those "extra" days so fiercely...because you don't want to reach the "and then there were none" status! Here's a look at Lunies in the Hunt through yesterday:

I know these aren't fancy graphs, but it makes me happy to create them. Happy is good. :D

Image There are lots of variations to put this one into your numeric efforts today...

Image Day 14 of 31...

Image Hang on...hang on!

Almost 70 percent of the 5K participants have let go of the rings, dropped off the rungs, etc. Almost 80 percent of the 10K participants are gone baby gone! We've got team staying power...and nobody wants to the THE ONE who lets it go!

Bombogenesis?! I had never heard this term...and not bomb cyclone either. Guess it is more familiar to those on the east coast! By now, many Lunies have seen the coverage of Denver's snow/blizzard/cyclone event...it was a snowy, icy, blustery day for sure. Spring, they say, is just around the corner......er...how far away is the corner??!

Hi Folks

About to fall off the ladder, or whatever, the gym I use is only available to me 6 days per week, not Saturdays. Unfortunately this season there are 5 Saturdays in March so I started with only 1 spare day and have burnt 2 in physio.
Only managed this challenge when I had a C2 at home but now no space.

Good luck to team survivors at either level.

We leave no spacer (as in space faring teammate!) behind in our galactic journey - and your continued efforts will help us in the World Erg Challenge which starts today! It takes a lot more effort to get to the gym each time you erg - so more power to you. I see that you have a fine yearly total palindrome today, too!

Hey guys
I know, I’ve been silent again. Just working away on this website stuff and now added in doing Facebook live every day, plus the weekly YouTube show and on and on it goes. I have been rowing as you know. Thanks for the well wishes on the world record. Yes Norma I did submit another record for the 30 minute event yesterday and I expect to hear from C2 today confirming this. If I get this one that would make 3 world records for the PR3 VI (blind) old farts category. .
If I understand correctly I am supposed to get a third place medal for the recent 1K sprint as well.
All of this is just helping me keep interested in rowing. Grin.
Ok, time to get cleaned up and go live. Then upload this week’s show and then finish brailling up the notes and record the sales video for the website. Then at 4 PM I stop whatever I’m doing and row. That’s the best time of the day for me.
Have fun my friends
Keep on rock’n!

Well, a half pi (in honor of Pi Day) is what you row when the whole thing is too much.

To Norton In Christchurch NZL

Post by Kona2 » March 15th, 2019, 11:53 pm

Our teammate Norton lists Christchurch NZL as his home - and the world knows there were some horrific things that happened there in the last 48 hours. I know we've had two of those episodes here in the Denver area, and it doesn't matter whether you knew the victims or not...the whole city feels pain. Extending sympathy - and wanted you to know that we are thinking of you, too, Norton.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 3.15.19

Image We're in 6th place...for now

Less than 100K separates the number 3-7 teams in the World Erg Challenge right now, so a very fluid situation with each individual participant's meter upload. During team challenges, some teammates do things like add 10 or 15 minutes to their daily erg session to give us a little extra push. Others try to stay in the top ten percent of all individuals participating. Today, you'd need to have contributed 21,500 m so far to be in the top 10 percent. Not for the faint of heart for sure...or for those short on available time. I am still working on how the pi clock works...

Image Ooooh, now I get it.

The numbers on the face don’t necessarily correspond to the numbers we’re used to, but instead correspond to the angle at which that number would be found. Instead, for example, the 90 degree angle represented by pi/2 radians takes over for the much simpler number 3. Here's the conversion calculator for radians to degrees. https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/number/radians-to-degrees.html Yikes. It had been a really long time since I thought about radians.... but now you know!
