Season best 10km for me tonight, beating my previous SB in May by 1 minute 1 second!

44:30.6 SPM 21

Really need to learn how to add images!!!
I do a screenshot, go to https://imgur.com/ , hit the +New Post button (top left) and upload your photo, then edit it (selecting edit from drop down arrow at the top right of the imported picture). Then save the pic. Go back to drop down arrow and select "get share links", select BBCode... then, paste it in your post.
Thanks Ray

Did a hardish 6k today, in 23:46.5, so 1:58.8 average pace, spm somewhere between 24 and 25.

RPE solid, but the 24 minutes went by pretty quick, probably slightly easier on the whole than I expected.

Could finally get outside again after weeks of sweltering weather without a drop of rain. So, shirt off and a nice 30min spm 20. Made 6749m @2:13.

30 minutes Time Trial

New British record in the 60-69 Lightweight category

Metres...........................8090

This adds 21 metres to the record I set back in November so happy with that.
Congrats, Rod. Strong work!

That's a very strong session Lindsay. I hope I'm able to do those times when I'm 66.

2 x 60 mins capped at 20 spm and 125 ahr (2 mins between reps)

Metres..................26947
SPM......................20
Average pace...........2:13.5
DF........................130
AHR.....................117

I find the long slow sessions can be a big help for the short fast ones so 2 reps of one hour this morning. (would be a 2 hour non stop but a 'pit stop' is a good idea at my age!).

This was 4.7 seconds faster on average pace than when I last did this one a month ago and 2 bpm lower so much quicker for less effort.

Rate was restricted to 20 spm and HR cap was 125 to keep it under my aerobic limit so well below that.....I'll have to try harder next time!

Damien..........Thanks for the kind comment, much appreciated.

Team Oarsome challenge done this morning: 15 x 1k on 1r, NOT an uninterrupted 15k. With hindsight I could have gone faster as I coasted in from 150m out for 3 or 4 reps to keep them consistent and I didn't want to fly and die. I think I could get to 1:46.5 average or a bit faster. There are two reps hidden from the top photo that were both 1:47.2

I really enjoyed it as I needed a decent session to sharpen up my mind and body. Too many excuses creeping in recently. Now I just need to find the courage to do a 10k at this pace to finally break my mental block for a sub 36mins 10k

Mutual admiration Stu that is more than decent - that is very strong. I find it is a good strategy too - go for a hard one to break a "soft" cycle but pick one you can be pretty sure to finish. We do a 15x 3'/1'R quite often - one of my favourite hard ones.
