Busy last two weeks. Had my final week at my old job working night shift (7pm-7am) on an inpatient general medicine unit, and then my first week on evening shift (11am-11pm) in the emergency department. Thankful to have the next 5 days off to catch up on sleep and get some workouts in.

Forgot to wear the HRM but UT1 ish I'd think. Had drag lower than usual. First interval at 105 and then bumped it to 115 for second interval as the beginning of some experiments into seeing if I can improve the 'cleanness' of my stroke...not sure if the terminology is right.

It's hard to be consistent when you're trying to maintain a steady effort. I felt better than yesterday, but I couldn't keep my thoughts under control in the second half.

Lunchtime intervals....8x500m/2'R.....had targeted sub 1:50 being a little conservative but felt solid so pushed that on. Not far off where I was pre-Covid in May now.
Need to get reacquainted with higher rates and get my breathing to like them.....was blowing a bit here.

Ta mate, and I'm always looking for the positives. Digestion has been an issue for a couple of days, and that's sorting itself out too, which is always helpful; the stomach being the second brain and all that

40min just row, steady state low intensity.
It was a hard week and recovery is not well due to digestion problems, which showed up a bit more again.
We had a challenge at the gym for squatting and deadlifting bodyweight max reps, so decided to go for it on Tuesday and loaded 80kg. After my normal warmup and some sets of handstand pushups I started with squats - 30 reps - followed by deadlifts with a short break - 34 reps. Then normal training.
Felt a bit sore from it since yesterday, but trained again as usual. Today feeling sore from yesterday

Dug out my old Garmin HRM, put a new battery in to see if it still worked. First time on it had my resting HR at 132. Tried again and seemed to have corrected its self. So set off and it seems to have worked OK. Set off on my short warm down and it was up at 172.
Have a new Garmin Dual coming tomorrow. Think this will be my sixth since 2005.

body was tired today so a 45 min steady state was all I was good for. feel a little cheated...haven't had a drink in two weeks but I still can't seem to sleep more than 6 hours

6th day in a row for me and I didn't quite have the heart for the planned Power Pyramid, so finished the week with something fun. I've done very little work for the past 5 months at anything around my target 1k speed, so it was good to open things up a little.
