First day in the saddle

I am male 35 yrs old 6ft short and 85 kg's and have just installed my new rower in my garage. I think it is fair to say what I don't know about rowing you could fill a large container ship with it! I have tried a couple of 200O M challenges at the local gym, which by the way made me feel a little bit poorly to say the least.
Please if any one could offer any words of wisdom with regards to setting my rowing training off on the right river please please Help! As I have just had a quick pull in the garage and am now waiting for the ambulance to turn up.

I would try and work up to 5 x 30mins at doing it at 20 strokes per minute.

Once a week you might try and do a workout of the day from the concept2 website.

The wolverine plan seems to be popular from bloggers in this forum.

Stick with it and you will get very fit!
