RELAX YOUR SHOULDERS!! haha sorry for the e-yelling but i had to learn my lesson the hard way and get an inflamed tendon before i finally learned to relax them throughout the stroke and not use my upper body so much.....my power and edurance really went up because of it too

yea, i used to do the same thing, and my upper body would get so sore
big mistake, especially since you can generate so much more power using your legs in the stroke

Yeah I had the same problem last year (freshman year in college)...since I have relaxed my inside shoulder especially my times have dramatically gotten better, and my coach said that my stroke technique is much more efficient also...
