Well done, Bob.

I see you have only 1 under-80 to beat in Nonathlon. B)
True, but Dean has an overwhelming lead and can still pick up the 100 bonus points by doing a tenth event. I met Dean at Boston and we had a nice chat. He went on to do a fantastic race at the C-B. He is at the high end of his category, 79, and not only won his five year LWT bracket, but beat all the rest of the 70-79 decade, both LWT and HWT as well. To some extent, this has given me the incentive to garner as many temporary records as I can this season, since he will be moving up next season to wipe them all out. I can feel him breathing down my neck. After this season, I have to hang in there until I get into the next age group at 85.

Congrats Ben, the code is i think for any times you put up which are top 10, you can check it in the rankings section (top right hand corner of the http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/log.asp page i think.) Code is normally there within a couple of days and i think it lasts like a couple months, havent had to renew mine yet

Congratulations Dougie!
Based on your 2K PB, a sub-38 min 10k is possible in the near future. Just work on your endurance. I am partial to the WP, but found that L4 and L3 workouts are great for building endurance and strength.

All the best,

We had our last 2ks of the winter season today, I pulled 8:02.2 as a JR lwt girl. Thats 3.5s down from two weeks ago at the Brighton Burn, and about 13s down from the beginning of the season.

I'm really happy about that...I wanted to break 8 minutes by the end of my sophomore year, and it looks like it's going to be possible.

Still haven't figured out how to not throw up afterwards, though...

Just did 8227 for my 30 min.

Funny the way people's PB's are arrayed. I mean, there are times here (like 1:27 for 500m) which I could not come close, but the same person I can beat their 5k no problem. Hmm. Different shapes!

well done!
The way you do a 500 is totally different than a long distance. It's a very different strategy.
If you know the trick...... Sure, its fly and die but the start makes the difference.

Yeah, I sometimes think I just can't take the pain! I am a serious long distance from your 1k, but comfortable on the 10k. More muscles needed! Though I though 86kg was enough!

New 5K PB tonight by 8 seconds - 18:35.2 Starting to get a bit of rowing fitness back as I have had to rest from running due to an foot injury.

The 2 threads I monitor most on this site are the runners thraed and this one. It is odd that since the new forum took over we seem to have a set new of posters in both threads. Where is Mr Pukita for instance, he was always on this thread, occasionally posting a PB but regularly offering congratulations.

Great row Johnnybike. That is faster than me and into the range in which a sub7 2k certainly looks possibly. You seem much stronger at the longer distances than the shorter. Are you rowing online yet?

Dougie: congrats on the 10k too, which sets a new standard that I don't think I am at yet. I better get around to scheduling an online race one of these weekends.
