Where've you been Ben?

Nice 500. Saw you also did a 30 min for the CTC. You've been busy today.

I dont have any really, currently i am in a summer club competetive rowing team, i have a job, working on my confirmation(religion), andmany other busy things. i honestly dont know if i have time for a whole workout plan, but im going to try to build up again to erging every evening in my basement.

haha, i thought people had forgotten about me? winter traing had ended and so did my every day erging, i honestly dont know why i stopped. I'm really trying to get back into erging. and yes, i have been doing the CTC's and i check on that daily. i think i need more things like that to keep me motivated. the 30 min gave me some courage to try to brake my 500m. Im glad to be back, but i dont think i will be as much of a frequent poster as i used to be because of all of the recent events.

I'm sure you'll get lots of advice. I remember you posting about doing or not doing a 10K. If you can't go every day (and that's a lot) think about doing a 10K three times a week. Try your 2K pace plus 20 sec to start. Should be a nice, long relatively easy row, and just under an hour. You can work towards getting it to your 2K pace plus 15 sec over a two and a half month period.

Anyway, good luck.

Which recent events--L'il Kim's release from prison? A pregnant Brittany Spears posing nude on a magazine cover? The English soccer team's woeful performance taking penalty kicks?

Listen to Tennstrike: Do some longer rows and build your endurance.

New 2K PB

Post by tennstrike » July 10th, 2006, 8:16 pm

Old 7:18.3 2May06

New 7:16.9 10July06

From 800 meters left to 300 meters left it was kind of hang on for dear life. Tougher than expected or maybe a little lazy. Don't know. Started to hold 1:48 at 200 left and during last 100 actually saw a few 1:43 and 1:45 so there was gas in the tank at the end. Real goal had been down 1 second a month so I'm lagging behind.

Goal ---- Actual

1:49.5 - 1:49.6
1:49.0 - 1:49.1
1:49.0 - 1:49.4
1:48.5 - 1:48.8

7:16.0 - 7:16.9

Yes, I thought this too. I will have to check with Kieran, I was laying on the floor in a heap and he wanted to use the erg so wrote the data down for me.
I spoke to Kieran yesterday and he can not recall the exact splits of my 1000m row; he thinks that is what was on the monitor. This invalidates this 1K score, so I will have to now row this piece again. I will try in a week or so.

Tennstrike, nice PB.

Chad:

Well done.

After such an experience of lying in a heap on the floor, doesn't it discourage you from wanting to do it again?

So now that we know you can do a 1k @ 2:49.6, what's your 2k goal?

Never be scared of making your body hurt, teach your body to enjoy the pain, learn to feed off it.

Even if you do supply the splits, how can you prove it? Was it witnessed? By who? Are they credible? Can you prove that they are? How do we know you didn't do a relay?
