mmayzak's 100k row still has my jaw on the floor. Wow!
That row has me thinking about some questions I often wonder about. It always bugs me when something happens during a row, and the PM5 numbers get all skewed. I'm curious how others handle these issues?
A. Bathroom breaks? My longest row to date is only 45 minutes, so bathroom breaks haven't been an issue for me. Yet.
B. Drink breaks? Do you just stop rowing and grab a water bottle? Or are you wearing a bladder pack?
C. Sweat management? I'm bald. I wear a headband, but I still have to have a towel close by to wipe my face. Sweat in the eyes ain't any fun!

Basically bathroom breaks have to be fast or you need someone to keep the monitor 'alive'. Drinks for the most part are done one handed and gels etc grabbed quickly when you're doing more than 30km, otherwise I don't need anything except water.
Sweatbands on both wrists do the trick for me but the air con is quite fierce in my gym

Well, the good news on the monitor is that the PM5 stays on if you are wirelessly connected to it with the rowdata program. So that’s easy. Take all the breaks you want.
100K is a long way... but it’s doable.

i did some 60' pieces and a few 1/2FM and one FM.
1. pee brakes - i always tried to get it done before i started the piece.
2. drinking - i just stopped for a quick drink ( make sure you pay attention to your electrolytes
3. before discovering ErgData - i had the same fear. i kept the handle going while drinking. since i started using ErgData, the problem of the monitor going off doesnt exist anymore.
4. sweat - my eyeglasses slides down my nose and i adjust them every so often. other then that i dont mind it.
i think the key to figure out your questions is in the building up pieces. you will do ever increasing pieces and you will discover the issues along the way and the solutions working for you.

I've got one of those little straps that opticians sell for sports to stop my glasses sliding down my sweaty nose. Just don't set it too tight, otherwise you get fogged up
