Before BRIC, when I was taking on various British Records there were a few WR’s that looked ‘doable’ so bided my time until after BRIC to take them on. Now I’ve planned to take on one a week for the next 4 weeks, each as a hard AT type session in a short programme leading up to a 2k race in Feb. Pretty sure that race will be in St Austell for a crack at the 2k BR.
First up was the 6k (which for some reason I thought was for the sub 7 ITC as well, only to find it’s 10k this month doh

So, 6k pace was pretty easy to fathom out following a hard 5k (17:09.8) I’d done last week for the IRL. Out hard for the 1st k then sit on 310w and push the last 1000m to bring it home. And so did pretty much that. No real dramas as I was ahead of the game from the off which helped the mental battle.
Nice feeling to be top of the pile in something.
