Not a PB, but definitely an SB.
I did a HM in 84:10.5 yesterday. I would have liked to have broken 84, but I also wanted to make sure I finished without wimping out

Great link; I needed that to remind me of (and prepare me for) the pain involved in short distance time trials. It did the trick however, as I got my 1K down from 3:23.5 to 3:19.3 (as mentioned in other threads, sorry for the redundancy).
1969; 183cm; 90kg; Rowing PB’s 2008; 500-1:32 1000-3:19 2000-7:14 5000-19:23 10000-40:29 HM-1:28:46. Recent SB’s not worth mentioning yet :-)

7:19.0 for a 2K and it felt easier than my 7:32.9 from 3 weeks ago. I'm going to try to wait at least a couple of weeks before trying another, but I feel I've a little more in me right now. I want to see sub 7 soon!

3:29.7 for the 1k. That's a 7.3 second improvement over this winter.
Now all I need to do is hold that pace for 1 more K and I will be under 7 mins for the 2k. That's all there is to it, right?

Not a PB, but definitely an SB.
I did 1 K 3:44.8 today. I was short of breath afterwards (Oxygen debt built up during the race).
It is only 4.9 seconds above my personal best.

7:22.4 for the 2000. That's a 7 second improvement over last year.
I think I could have broken 7:20 because my HR rate was only 160 at the end. I kind of fouled my pacing by trying to do negative splits and starting out too slow. Next time I will try to stay consistently under 1:50. I'm not clever enough to do negative splits.
What's that on the horizon? Looks like a plateau.

I just did 14,616m in 60min. Even pace of 2:03.2 was easy for the first 40 min and with 17 to go got harder fast. HR slowly drifted from 150 to 160 and jumped upto 169 in last few minutes. Impoved on last pace by 2.5sec per 500m. Lots of fun.

Why has this thread fallen down the list...?
Well, I'll bring it back to life.
Spur of the moment 500m:
1:37.4
Previous was a 1:39.0...I'm happy
According to Paul's Law, my 2k should be a 7:08 (1:47.0)

5000m Test
19:57.8 (1:59.8)
PR by 27 seconds... o_0
Actually kind of dissapointed... I did the first 3000 at about a 2:04.0 which was a big mistake...I ended up having to sprint the last 1k at 1:48...and that did not feel good.
Either way it could have been better is all im saying.
This test was just on my own, alone. So when it comes time to do it with the team for the REAL test then I will be ready

Time to resurrect this thread. My workout called for 3x3' at TR pace so I got the great idea to use the first interval for a PB test in the 500. I had a lot of nervous energy as my daughter is in India right now and I would like to hear from her. Check the date and you will understand.
I did a 1:34.6 which is an improvement of about 3.5 seconds since July. I'll take that but the rest of my workout was junk as I entered a state of incipient barfabilityafter the 500 m test. I started very fast in the low 1:30s and finished at about 1:38 with no gas left in the tank. Couldn't go any faster.
