@ Stu - huge congrats! Like Henry mentioned, that's a brutal row (and one I've avoided recently because I've been concentrating on the 2K which was a mistake).

Looked like it would have hurt. That is a huge amount of time to shave off of your PB!

@ Henry, I'm glad that 3k is when it should have bitten as it definitely did! Thankfully it didn't last too long.

@ Mike, it was not pretty that's for sure. Felt great afterwards though. It was good to further reinforce that when you think you're done, there is usually still more to give if you just ride it out.

I now need to think about my 2km TT, which is a bit daunting as I'm very untrained for that distance, but the 5km has given me some confidence.

Feel free to take your time getting around to it, give me a chance to beat your current PB before you set a new one

More seriously I look forward to seeing what you can do. Paul's law suggests about 6:34 so sub 6:40 should be easy (or as easy as any 2k ever is).

Think positive about that. Yes, you are untrained, so its "easy" to improve from here. But don,t expect it right way. If you do 2 2k ish like sessions a week, for 6 weeks you could improve a good bit.

Wow Stu! Very well done, super impressive (and inspiring). It's crazy to think there's more to come, but no doubt about it. Looking forward to more attempts at the shorter distances.

I'm finding a distinct difference...for the 2K it's exposing my poor stroke action (mainly lack of leg drive) despite rating low because my stroke is so long if that makes sense ...probably less of an issue for you as you're taller and heavier and if you've had a bit more sense (than me) you've worked on getting a more classic "action" on the erg. I wish you good luck....

@ Tom, hahaha I'll give you a head start mate. It will probably be another couple of months before I give the 2k a TT. I like to think that a 6:35 is possible but there's a big difference between thought and action!

@ Henry, thanks mate. That's useful to know

@ Anth. Thanks, It was a struggle for a little bit and almost fell apart

@ Mark, thanks. There's a little bit more to squeeze out but i suspect not much more.

@ Paul, I also have a bit of an issue with leg drive, which I'm working on. The power curve looks good but I don't feel like I really drive with my legs enough.

Well, didn’t set any record for a set piece, but I started using rowpro a couple of months ago, and ended up rowing the longest distance I ever have in a single session. Did a workout that covered 18K. Furthest I’ve ever gone in 25 years.

2K, 6:58.9

It’s been almost an hour and I am freezing and feel sick still. Quite succesfull max effort. Felt and feel like crap. Didn’t have much sprint in me. Last 4 pulls started to fade.
Was able to keep 30-31 rate.

Very happy as 7 min is a big deal for unfit daddy-bod like me.

Wow! Huge improvement Kerosene, and sub 7 to boot! Congratulations, that's a big milestone, and well earned!
