Haha. Satisfying though. I used to mountain bike alot. I've been to loads of countries for crosscountry and downhill mtbing and live in one of the best areas of country for natural terrain for mtb (rather than man made trails). And yet, I don't use what's now on my doorstep. Poor show really.

Been able to train consistently for quite a few days now. I also stopped lifting (apart from some ocasional "kidlebells" :P ), so rowing quite a bit everyday.
So feeling my legs stronger while rowing and regaining good feelings.
A couple of pics from yesterday and today: https://bit.ly/2NoZsRe
Pretty good times for me :)

Spent a lot of time on the baseball diamond this week assisting with our little league squad (pitch-n-catch drills, games, etc...). Its a lot more tiring then you might think but I did manage to get some rows in this week...

Tue: 2K / 7:45.9 / 1:55.3 / DF 145 / SR 18
Thurs: 30 min / 7535m / 1:59.6 / DF 160 / SR 24
Fri: good morning 2K / barefoot & strapless / 7:56.5 / 1:59.1 / DF 115 / SR 21

I'm really starting to realize the value of low stroke rate training sessions. They definitely help with endurance and muscle engagement (buttocks in particular).

I was really undecided today. Should I go to the gym at all? What distance? Intervals? I decided on 10 miles and bailed out at 12.5km as it just wasn't happening today.

On a positive I managed to do 12.5k in 47:30, which is faster than I have been doing, and it took until almost 10k until it really felt like the wheels were coming off; 8k has been the previous 'tightening' zone

60 minutes

Average pace....................1:54.5
Total metres....................15720
DF.................................109
SPM...............................33

This was 19 metres further than 10 days ago (0.1 faster on average pace) so moved me up from 2nd to top of the world rankings for 60-69 Lightweights.

It felt nicely controlled but the heat made it a bit tough in the second half so confident of much better when it gets cooler.....ooh I hate summer!

My noon workout:

Pushups & legraises.
Upright barbell rows
Barbell curls
Barbell standing overhead press holds
Squats + jump squats

Then late afternoon i got onto the erg for just a fairly easy going row.

Then i had to abandon my 30min session just shy of 10mins in, due to the dog  I lost my temper big time  Along with losing the session

So i got back on and setup a 20min to complete my training. This is how the figures looked!!!

9:44.4 - @ 2:09.6 - r20 - 2253m
20:00.0 - @ 2:08.7 - r20 - 4659m

Then some power plate'

Great work on topping the ranking Rod!

36' piece for me today - made up of 6 6' WP L4 segments (116/116/116/128/128/140) for 744 total strokes and a 20.7 spm. Averaged 2:02.5 for a total of 8,813m.

I'm averaging 82k per week so far this month (including warm ups).

It's been 70k per week since the start of the season on the 1st of May.

I feel my rowing is a lot better for doing more meters than ever before so.....If you're looking to improve I can recommend it.

Bloodbuzz ......Thanks for the kind comment....and well done on the 8k+ :D
