Following a failed session yesterday due to three back spasms I need to do something today.

10k strapless focussing on technique and core strength turned out to be a good idea. My back still isn't right but no spasms this morning
Glad you were able to get back on today after back spasms yesterday. An long session focused on your core was probably a good idea. Put some heat on your back today to keep those muscles loose.

Hopped on a 30 minute Rowepro session this morning for some laughs. Always humbling yet inspiring for me to row with other folks. I pulled a seasons best 7011m. The next chap was over 500m ahead of me! First was well over 8k.

I'm happy any time I pull over 7k for 30 minutes, but it's lonely back there!!

Thanks Mitchel. We had a long day walking in hills with some friends. It ended up at about 10km and I think it was just what I needed.

Thought I should get some metres in on the SkiErg.

5k w/u on rower, 5k on SkiErg.

All very sedate, but not used to skiing any distance at all, so expecting some DOMS tomorrow.

HM with a lad I know from Instagram who is doing a truly incredible challenge of 25 FMs in 25 days. This is his fourth FM today and I bottled it to also do a FM.

I intended to maintain a 2:06 pace as I didn't want to disrupt his pace, but I just couldn't seem to slow down, and thankfully it didn't affect his pace at all. This felt harder than it should have done, but it was good to do a HM as it's been far too long since my last one.

No surprise at that pace and following an upset stomach. Your fuel will have been sub optimal so your engine is bound to suffer.

Gradually cranking up the erging after resting my golfer's elbow (on the inside - tennis elbow is on the outside) for a few weeks. So, 3 by 2k @2:14 with 2min rest. A relaxed effort as it was after a sweaty treadmill session: 15 x 1min fast/1min slow (5.5 k per h). First five warming up. Last 10 at 15km/h. The gods are finally looking kindly on my efforts to run long distances. Long may it last. Hope to do a parkrun 5k in a few weeks.

Thanks for the hints on how to treat my painful elbow. I got myself a (red) Theraband Flexbar and am now doing the Tyler twist regularly.

5k today, i lowered the footrests down 1' notch to see if a better connection could be made, and it definitely felt like it. Not much focus on the sr, just rowed at what felt a good comfortable rhythm. Really enjoyed this sesh, despite it being very warm and humid. The big fan blowing helped though :D

Just coming back into rowing in my 4th week after the hockey season when I really cut back on my rowing.

I just did a semi serious 5k in 21:01 and nearly puked, whereas my 20:14 Pb was only 9 months ago and felt like a walk in the park.

Probably no surprise to anyone on here but I was amazed how much and how quickly a lack of training can impact you, I was aiming for 2:05/500m to ease my self back in....absolutely no chance today

Don’t stop training kids, it’s going to be bloody horrible getting it back.

Too bloody right!! I was out 3 weeks through illness and lost a big stack of my erg fitness. It took months of hard work to get just some of it back. It's only now i feel i'm back to full fitness!!!

Feeling like I have a hangover today, despite not drinking yesterday. Opted for a bit less than my preferred 10 miles due to not quite as much time.

I wanted to quit from 10k onwards
