45 mins SS today. Since i increased my df setting (experimenting) which has now basically translated to a damper setting 5' from 4' (clean machine) I feel able to engage and catch the flywheel even better than before, it feels like more workload on the pull of the handle, but i actually feel good for it, and more in tune with the machine
Anywho, todays session was a nice enjoyable one. In the final split i pushed with some harder strokes, same rate r20, and was seeing 1:53's, so my stroke power has certainly come on leaps and bounds. Felt like i got some good work accomplished today, very happy.
1000m cool down @ 2:18
Then done a 7 mile trek later this evening.

Pretty good session. Kept my average pace just below 2:02 for the first 8km then increased it in the last 2km whilst keeping my rate at 18.
EDIT: no heart rate data as my monitor wasn't working properly again. Looks like I will have to buy a replacement.

One hour session with my personal trainer to start the morning. Some nice ab work and squats today along with lunges. Followed this up with 8500m on the erg at 2:13 which put me over the top for the Holiday Challenge. Since this was my first challenge, I was excited to check the challenge honor board until I saw that the #1 slot was a fellow who logged 1,811,621m !!! How is this even possible in 20 days?? I was deflated.

If you row very good easy, you can do whole day long... Bit like cycling. Bizar, but some do.
For olympic rowers 200km per week is not uncommon and those are not junkmeters.

Just finished my first half marathon! Not a great time (pace was ~ 2:25) but it doesn't matter. Except for the final 10 minutes it was all in UT2 heart rate band, and I'm not feeling even particularly tired. Drinking was a bit of a problem, I need to experiment with bottles and camelback.

40’ alternating 2’ at r18 and 2.06 and 2’ at r20 and 2.01. Basically did that although a couple of my r18s were r19.

don't be - there is a group of people as Henry says who just do meters the most famous is a lady named Darleen who I think has done 3 million in a month for one of the challenges - takes ten hours a day @2:30 and beyond.

@ Tom, looks like you're getting back into the groove again.
@MassIF, well done it's a great milestone to reach. Any plans for a FM?
@ Mitchel, don't compare yourself to Dennis; his metres are ridiculously high and to be honest, too much. No one else is even getting close to him. Whatever metres you're pulling is good enough.

Do you use ErgData Rob? I find its stroke counter really handy for this sort of workout. Back when I spent some time doing Wolverine Plan level 4 workouts I used to have a bit of paper with the running total number of strokes for each section and I'd compare that to the stroke counter to see how closely I was following the plan. Even with today's 10km at rate 18 I compare the stroke counter at each 5 minutes to what it should be if I were rowing a perfect 18 (today I was dead on, which is a strangely good feeling).

Seems that way yeah. I'm enjoying the sessions which is good. I'll have to back off the intensity as I increase the distance at some point though.

@Tom- yes I do at home and at one of my gym locations where I use the PM5. At my other gym location it's a PM4 and I never remember the cord to connect to my iPhone. Agree it's great for data like s/r and it saves having to enter everything into the online logbook as well, which with 20x2' splits today was a pain in the arse!

Attempted a marathon tonight but had to abort at the 60 min mark... Naggy little muscle spasm in my mid back... Its been on and off for ages. I was making good time too (2:06.5)...
Took a quick rest then pulled... 331m / 1 min & 500m 1:46.3 to test things out. Only minor irritation and no spasms.
Ill be refocusing to leg work this week and give my back a rest... Its stuff like this that reminds me that im 43 not 23... Doh!
