Simple, but interesting. Would you say that session helped with a particular [classic] distance?lindsayh wrote:Wed PM

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Thanks - I don't think it would specifically help a training program but I find it forces you to concentrate on what is happening and I like the variety that interval sessions offer. It was actually just a way of avoiding the "boredom" off a SS piece and then a short intense sharpener as the last session before I race on Sunday so it is really just part of a tapering exercise. The first 18/19 were kinda cruisy and then the last 5 were harder with the aim of >10w spi and 28+sr which is my 2k goal. Hoping for about 2k @1:43 and sr32 if I can (probably shouldn't say that out loud!) There are some shorter races as well.Gammmmo wrote:Simple, but interesting. Probably won't train again now before the day. I try to reduce the meters in the last week or so, increase intensity and aim to be <2k pace for more than usual. This week included 10x 3'/1'R, 10x 45"/75"R and 10x 30"/90"R all hard so now just rest the legs (and drive a 1000km)

I sometimes feel a bit funny posting these, especially when i see what others are doing....oh well. I continue to improve.
Wednesday AM

16:00.03 (doh!) @ 2:00.0 (doh!)
1 -- 7:58.5 @ 1:59.6
2 -- 8:01.8 @ 2:00.4 (doh!)
I really thought I'd get this session completed in under 16:00 with both legs <2:00 pace. I left a little too much to reel in at the end on leg two. Oh well. Something to look forward to next time.

Never ever feel funny or reluctant to post your times. If you are giving it 100%, I, and I'm certain many others, will always enjoy seeing you progress._PBH_ wrote:I sometimes feel a bit funny posting these, especially when i see what others are doing....oh well. I continue to improve.![]()
No-one is the finished article to start with and don't forget there's been a lot of sweat and pain over many years to produce some of the times you see.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Indeed, the more the merrier! TBS I'd prefer blogs over thread like this.
Another Level 4 -session, goal SPI=9.4, strokes 1374, total metres around 17270.

HR 146/157 SPI=9.65 RPE 7/10. Little by little going to right direction.
Last two days have been significantly cooler here in Finland, so it's been easier to do daily erg sessions (Room temp only 24.3°C today, instead of usual 26-27°C).

When are you going to do a 2K and crush that 8 minutes on your signature Erik? You have got to be close to sub 7 now or around it.Dreadfish wrote:Tonight

6k 25:58 25spm @2:10.Yet another failed attempt at a 43min 10k, which would go nicely with my 5k. And I was outside, which is a lot cooler and easier on the mind. Irritating.
Maybe I don't deserve that 10K time
. I still have trouble going over 5k in a session, apart from regular 5 x 1500 R5'. Note to me: Must get music or podcast sorted.

if by sub 7 you mean between 7:30 and 8:00 then yes i must be lol
concentrating on the longer sessions at the moment. working up to half marathon plus. maybe if i have a brain fade one night i may have a go at it but not looking at specificaly doing it just yet.

Ok. I was at the gym and warming up on the bike. Finished the warm up and went to the erg. Setting it up and wtf. I put in 2000m.

What stroke rate? I'm honestly surprised you didn't go sub-7 based on your other rows and with some proper speed training I'm fairly certain you could go quite a bit below 7 minutes.Dreadfish wrote:Ok.
