Just the two. And I only use the one with the pm3. The other has a pm2. There are two of us that I know of that only use the pm3 one lolGammmmo wrote:Mutiple ergs in your gym? If so, I bet you have your favourite for some reason.Dreadfish wrote:Tonight

In the past prior to having my own erg I've often had a preference for a particular gym erg even though they may be the same model/PM etc.

We have 6 at the gym (and one at home when can't get there) There is one there that is well known as "mine" and others will steer clear of it. Not OCD at all.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Picking the right erg on the gym has just as many variables as Sheldon picking his seat. You just don't know how important it is.

Funny thing is how they switched the erg with meh-straps that was placed on a side of my gym to a new position where you have the TV right in front of you. That killed me. Had to pick a new favourite erg. They didn't expect me to realize about it or what?

There are also six at my gym and I have two favourites (Cynthia and Derrick). Life's not good if someone is messing about on them.
I can count on one hand the amount of people I have seen using the ergs who actually know, even if only slightly, what they are doing

I've started meeting my personal trainer at his gym once a week to do some weight work. It's rather funny watching most people casually use the erg.Dangerscouse wrote:There are also six at my gym and I have two favourites (Cynthia and Derrick). Life's not good if someone is messing about on them.

Last night I had two come over and use the other erg while I was on. Their form was immaculate. One was doing 15 spm. Both were women. As you say.. Very rare to actually see someone who knows how to use the erg properly. The thrashers just crack me up

I kind of slacked off last week. Hoping to keep at it this week. I'm scheduled for another 5k TT tomorrow. I'm more nervous this go-round than 4 weeks ago.
Tuesday AM
8x500m/1'r @ 28spm
1:59.9
1:59.7
1:59.6
1:59.3
1:59.2
1:59.1
1:58.8
1:57.8
Goals for 5k tomorrow: pace @ 2:03 to start, negative split down to 1:59 for the last 1000m. Hopefully end at ~2:01 pace average. Not sure I'm ready (mentally?) for sub 20:00.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Bit peeved off tonight. Went to the gym and the erg I use had the pm3 broken. So I had to use the older one with the pm2.

If they don't get the other erg fixed I will have to go use the other branch a bit further away. At least it has 4 ergs. Last time I was there 2 of those had issues so may have to go do a recce first

Erik I really think there is a total mismatch between these 40' sessions and the numbers in your signature - will be interesting to see what it looks like when you get around to a revision.Dreadfish wrote:Bit peeved off tonight. Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Another "full Monty" day. 40min hilly biking before breakfast, then the usual upper body, core, yoga routine. This evening I did my first 30 min 20spm session, because it's supposed to be good for me (like cod liver oil). Actually it was fine mentally and physically, although I did droop a bit over the last k. I reached 6680m, which is only 350m short of my 30min PB.
What difference do other folk have between the free pace and 20spm?
