Done quite a bit of speed work the last days, so opted for an easier workout today.

3x5k @ 3 min rest
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
53:55.1 15,000m 1:47.8 279 1260 27 163
17:58.7 5,000m 1:47.8 279 1259 28 153
17:58.8 5,000m 1:47.8 279 1259 27 164
17:57.7 5,000m 1:47.7 280 1262 27 172

I guess the heart rate numbers are maximum heart rate for that interval, as I know the average is quite a bit lower :)

Sweaty session, but very controlled all the way.
Great session Jo Andre, 3x my 5k PB as an easier row for you

@ HR: It's the HR at the end of the interval
Haha thanks Martin, we all have our struggles! It is the same way(just other way around) once you start your sprint intervals, you could basically take a coffee break in the midst of a 100 meter, and still finish before me

Nice Alex!

There are quite a few people on here who plug away day in day out, plus mix in double sessions on rower or bike and rower. You only have to look at the annual meters challenge board to see the daily m some people do.

Working late tonight so decided on a session this morning.

10' warmup row

Squats single dumbell 8kg x15
Overhead Press dumbells 8kg x10
Arm Curl barbell 20kg x10
Bent over Row barbell 20kg x15
Chest Press on ball dumbells 8kg x15

5 sets in rotation

15' cooldown row

Back is a little twingy after this so I'll need to be very careful when I do the next strength session. I did wear my weight belt but I think doing this every other day is too much....maybe twice a week is more achievable.

Get on a program prewritten by someone else since you clearly don't know what you're doing. I can list 5+ things wrong with this workout if you would like me to. Otherwise you're going to end up with fuckarounditis and will stop lifting weights since you won't see any progress.

Did a hard 30 minute yesterday - ended up as a PB but I am not ranking or posting it as I want to do a "real" TT for it next week. Figured I tested FM (first one) and then had a PB on HM and 10K even if not to goal. Going to do the 30 minute and then 5k, 2k. No time table but test one every couple weeks or so.

Thanks Keith, I would have to say 5k is one of my favourite distances, not too long, not too fast. Even if I have gone out too fast, once the timer goes under 10 minutes(which does not take too long) I usually find new strength in the single digit :)

I have clearly had too much time off the erg as I'm looking at this session and thinking I might give it a try.

I reckon the third rep will start to slap me around the face from fairly early on. Great session JA.

Do it, dooo iiiit  I reckon you could complete this session with some digging Stu :D thanks a lot, these sessions(this one and the 4x8 we did for instance) gives a good feeling, not too hard work, but at the end you are feeling the fatigue sneaking up. And as a bonus, if you can complete it, I need to try and go even harder next time!

LOL, OK, I decided I was going to try and hit a 1:48 pace exactly and I did just that which equated to 8330M. Thought about pushing for more but after the CTC on Tuesday I was just hoping to hit the 1:48 pace and I did pretty much the whole thing at that pace - very flat, especially for me as being consistent is never a strong point for me. I mean I would have strokes higher and lower but kept the avg. right on 1:48. So, next week I want to get closer to 1:47 and hit 8400.
