14041m row in 1hr. Nice and relaxed. First ever 1hr. Am sure I can get close to 16000m with some training. Only been rowing since 14th Oct 2013. Last row was about 5yr ago when I had a heart attack.

4.5k...on the water in an eight! Then 4.5k back as the coxswain. First ever experience as a coxswain. Coach was making most of the calls, but even so, steering is not an easy job.

Really just all around fitness is what I work on. Rowing is still pretty new to me. I started on the water in 2012 and won my first indoor race in early 2013. I went 6:53 my first ever 2k with a head cold and no warmup. I have to schedule my training around a wife, 2 kids, a job, part time personal training, and anything else going on at the time so it can look kind of random. I don't post everything I do on here though. It has worked well for me I can bench right at 300lbs, deadlift over 400, squat somewhere between 3 and 4, do 35 pullups(non-kipping), military press between185-195lb, 51inch box jump, currently about a 1:23-24 500m, and a sub 6:30 2k. I was a three time state champion in cross country and track and ran in college about 20yrs ago before I got into all around fitness. I will start focusing on the erg more in the next few weeks to get ready for a couple races in Feb. and I'm going to Dallas this weekend to complete my indoor rowing coaching cert. That is me in my avatar doing the human flag.

1193 1:40 sr25 was a 4min fitness test at my ucanrow2 cert. felt comfortable, I went about 85%
I did a negative split, first 1min was at 1:42. I dropped each min and ended with the 1:40 average. 2k at 1:40 would not be a problem right now at all.
The rest of the day I totaled 8891 more meters which included another 21min workout involving dampener settings and stroke rate. This was a teaching workout, still pretty tough.

5015m
first five min I did some drills so it was 2:12 pace
ended up finishing 5000 in about 2:00 average (20:00)
last 15 min where at 2 or under sr20-21
all completely unstrapped on the foot stretchers
first time I have done that long unstrapped

The length of time spent erging unstrapped is not usually a problem. The tricky part comes when you go at higher rates. Initially, I was wary about doing anything over 20spm unstrapped, but eventually I found that I could get comfortable even over 30spm. Then I started using slides with a model D and later got the dynamic model. With an ungrounded erg there is no limit about how high you can take the rate unstrapped - at least no limit imposed by being unstrapped. I have gone to 60spm just to see if it would work. No real point to that, just idle curiosity.

Just trying it out and it prevents excessive leaning back at the finish.
