I've been trying improve my technique using a mirror and watching my form.
Today during my warmup, I my wife recorded about 45 seconds
as I picked up the pace to about 1:44.5 @ 35-36 spm. (2k race pace is 1:50.8)
If you see things I can work on, let me know.
Thanks

Hello Bill,
For finer details I think the coaches would like the view directly from the side. I think it looks good and you appear to be in great shape.
It looks like you may engage your arms slightly too early.
You erg at a high rate and I think you could be a bit faster pushing the arms forward after the end of the stroke. Now you get a little stop at the end and throwing the arms forward helps you slide forward with less pull from the legs.
It would be nice with some really knowledgeable input to comment mine.

On the recovery, your knees start to come up at the same time your body starts to move forward. Get the body angle set before you start to come up the slide. This helps with a firmer catch.
I have the tendency to do the same. If you are more toward the front of the sit bones at the finish, it will inhibit the legs coming up (this is subtle). Also make sure you hamstrings are not tight.

Hi Bill,
Looks pretty good overall. You are not delaying at the finish as much as you were when I saw you warming up at the NPT 2K. However as Stephan said, you still have a little stop. Try smoothing that out and get the hands away quicker. The hands are fast (maybe too fast after the finish), but right at the finish there is a delay. Also as was mentioned, you can try to get your body angle set before your knees come up.
Also I think it would be good if you could bring your rate down especially for longer pieces. You'd be surprised at what speed you can get at a lower rate, even with low drag settings.
You appear to be a little tense. Try to relax more, especially your arms and shoulders. If you drop your elbows slightly, more work will be transferred through your lats which have more power than your arms. Relax the catch and drive with the legs first. Just hang on with your arms and body. Let your legs do the work.
Hope that helps,
Trevor

Hey Bill. I'm not sure if we're seeing your "true" form since the pace in the video is 5+seconds below your 2k race pace. Looks like you could let the recovery play out a moment longer and maybe your arms unlock (if that's the right term) a moment too early during the drive. I try to tell myself "quick hands, slow recovery, relax the shoulders".
But your back is nice and straight and it looks like you're in phenomenal shape.
