One Vortex edge lost, what to do?

Hi, we have only a pair of C2 sculls with vortex edges and one got lost. What would you suggest to do? I am thinking to leave it as it is, as it seems there is no sensible difference with rowing with only one device on.
Ho would you remove the other one with no risk of damage?
Would it be affordable and worth to put on another one, considering that it is the only vortex blade in the boathouse and we do not travel around, so it would need a shipment for the replacement (Italy)?

Unless you're racing at a very high level, I don't think you'll notice any adverse effects and considering the difficulty in getting one shipped I would just not worry about it.

Mike - It is quite an easy job and it should be straightforward to get the part and glue. They have the added benefit of protecting the outer edge of the blade from damage. Filippi is our Italian oar distributor and they can get you the parts you'd need (http://www.filippiboats.it). There are instructions for replacing vortex edges on the C2 website (http://www.concept2.com/service/oars/oa ... schematics). Please don't hesitate to contact us at rowing@concept2.com if you have trouble.

If you decide to just remove it, there's little chance of damaging the blade. Use a flat chisel and pry the vortex edge off. Once off, use the chisel to scrape any remaining glue off the blade surface.
