Hi!!
My question is about time used on indoor rower and SkiERG vs real outdoor workout.
A very good skier will use about 20 minutes on 10000m. Thats 1 minute pr 500m. At SkiERG the best athlets wil use maybe 35 minutes on 10 000m. Thats maybe 1:45 pr 500m. I guess the time used on SkiERG is measured with some variables like skiers weight, glide-deacceleration, etc.. Does anybodey know more about this?
And I find it easyer to go faster while indoor-rowing than skierging. (See my lowpull in the signature).
At on water rowing the best rowers use more time on 2000m than on concept2 indoor rowing. When there is 8 rowers in one boat, the time is not so very different on 2000m. I also guess there is some variables here like rowers weight, how many people in the boat.

Re: SkiERG vs indoor rower
The indoor rower pace is based on the average for one of the fours, probably a quad, the fastest of the fours and almost as fast as an eight, which has the additional weight of the coxswain. Sculling seems to be slightly more efficient than sweeping since the 4- (sweep 4 without cox) is not quite as fast as a 4x. The 4+ (sweep 4 with cox) is definitely slower. Note that 4x+ (sculling 4 with cox) is not a common combination. It is used sometimes, but generally just for juniors and novices as a safety measure in heavily trafficked waters.btlnorway wrote:Hi!!
