Got another new 2k pb today: 10:23.8, so beating my previous by only 2.2s! Bit disappointed at the tiny margin, as this one did hurt a lot despite not going off too fast and pacing it more evenly than before:

2:36.6, 2:36.8, 2:37.0, 2:33.4, overall 2:35.9

It's going to take a lot of work to get below 10 minutes!
Row: 500m 2:04.7 | 1k 4:19.4 | 2k 8:55.4 | 5k 23:13.7 | 6k 28:43.9 | 10k 49:31.8 | 1min 257m | 4min 908m | 30min 6,328m
Ski: 500m 2:18.8 | 1k 4:58.8 | 2k 10:01.6 | 5k 25:59.7 | 10k 52:44.7

Awesome, Paul.
You beat your PB and that's what counts. Did you have a good warmup?
A good warmup is a must for me to do anything fast, and makes a big difference.

I did a light 15 minute warm-up John, consisting of a mix of treadmill walking, elliptical and then a bit on the stepper, just to raise the hr a little and get the blood flowing. Then on the SkiErg, I just did a few practice strokes and setting the damper/drag factor. I guess I could do more on the SkiErg as a warm up, but I would have to be careful to keep the pace down or I would be already too worn out prior to starting the time trial!

Paul, I think doing more Skierg warmup would be helpful. For example, at least a 2k with most of it easy, including going to your planned pace at least a few times to transition, so when you're going for time it won't be a shock. I do much more than that. Maybe others would have more ideas.

Plus this adds more time to have fun on the Skierg. :D

10K PB last night. Of course it was my first 10K so obviously my PB. :D

46:04.4, 38spm

Went out pretty conservatively the first 1K then settled in and then in the last 2K lowered the pace by a second or two. Time seemed to go by faster than the 10K I did on the rower in the morning. Maybe it was the music, Rage Against the Machine blasting.

Great effort, Kini. Left me in the dust! Sounds very well paced and planned, right down to the music. Many more PB's to come :D , I'm sure.

Steve, are you still running marathons? I'm impressed. I'll be watching the UTMB race this weekend.

John, am working back up to it. Have a half marathon in October. Plan long term is to do at least 11 more marathons. That would make it an even 100 of marathon distance or longer. If I end up being one of those old geezers that has to walk, that will work.
First triathlon was in 1981, so have always liked the idea of cross training. Erging is a great workout. It won't make me a strong runner but is good training all it's own and I enjoy it.

Steve, good for you. My last marathon was at age 38, quite a long time ago.

New 30 minute pb this morning, exceeded my goal and added 449 meters. The last 4 minutes were quite difficult.
I bettered my 5k pb warming up, then took a minute off in the 30`, plus bettered my 2k and maybe 500m pb's to the finish.

time meters pace spm
30:00 6202 2:25.1 41
06:00 1216m 2:28.0 42
12:00 1225m 2:26.9 41
18:00 1233m 2:25.9 42
24:00 1246m 2:24.4 41
30:00 1282m 2:20.4 43 .. 75df

Upcoming goals: more training, being patient, shorter pb attempts, maybe an hour attempt by the end of the month.

New 2k PB on the Skierg. My warmup was good.

1500 7:02.3 2:19.6 41

Nice one John. Nice strong finish. I hope to be in your shape when I get that age. :D
