Managing logbook with SkiErg and Rower intervals?

Post by estragon » June 21st, 2018, 6:10 am

My SkiErg should be arriving at the weekend to go with my C2 rower. A question for those who have, or use, 2 or more C2 items: how do you manage your logbook entries? I can see that single sessions on both are straightforward. but what about the paired sessions and intervals that I keep reading about? Suppose you wanted to alternate between SkiErg and rower, doing (say) 3 minutes on each, repeated a few times times. Do you set up both PMs in advance with long rest intervals (to incorporate the session on the other)? I can't see how the ErgData app would cope with this. Or do you use 'Just Row' and upload all to USB and logbook as several short sessions? Thanks.

Don,t know if you can link both machines to ergdata at the same time. You could try.

So if not you should do every interval standalone.

I would not combine the rower and skierg together, both use the spine very differently. Tried it a few times, but felt off, so do not combine sessions.

I almost always do rower and skierg workouts at the same time. Like 2K on the rower then 2K on the skierg, repeat 2-4 times. Or 6K rower, 6K skierg or alternating 500s or 1000s. I find the total body workout to be great. Very efficient, no issues with the spine. :D

I'm pretty sure you can't connect 2 pms to the same device for erg data.

My rower has a PM2+ so not an issue for me. I only used erg data once on the skierg. Disappointed it doesn't have a skierg setting. So I just manually enter my data into the log book.

Also, if I'm doing longer intervals like 2K, I just let the PM power down and start a new session.
