The Jan 2008 virtual challenge
It's now day 6 plus 14 hours as I write this mail, that's a total of 158 hours since the challenge started. Assuming the average human being needs 6 hours sleep a night, in 6 days thats 36 hrs lost to sleep leaving 122 hours of max rowing time available. Assuming in 1 hour the average rowing distance is 14,000 m which is an admirable rate, the chap from breast cancer awareness whos rowed 556,804 metres to date has been rowing for for a total of 40 hrs out of a max of 122 hrs avaialble. That's rowing for an hour every 3 hours non stop. This chaps effort has got to be admired whoever he is.

Amazing to go from 30 mins a day average recorded hours from April to December. To have the willpower and time available to row 7-8 hours a day. Not to mention avoiding injuring when increasing your mileage 8 fold, mind boggling. I don't think there can be many people on the planet capable of his feat!
The syetem won't let me put a direct link, but for anyone who is interested on reading about Brians mission, you can read his blog in Myspace.com. Just use /blindmannofish after the first myspace.com bit & that should take you to his main page with links to his blogs that are quite brief & just about daily.

Breast Cancer Awareness Team Daily Rowing Diary
Hello,
Team Captain from the LUNA-TICS here.
You guys and gals are doing a great job this JVC!
I have just created a new topic in the JVC forum for the Breast Cancer Awareness Team. It is a copy of Brian's daily rowing diary. Please visit this topic, and give him some encouraging words in these final days of the challenge. Don't forget to take the poll at the top of the page, too.
Thanks!
