Neat. How did you achieve this?

(Is that a model B Rower in the background?)
I run in the mud, I sweat on the erg, and I happily battle the years...
M 1961, 1.80m/5'11", 75kg/165lb. Erging since Sept 2019.

Yes, that is a Model B in the background, purchased in 1989. Still running like new. Many 10's of millions of meters logged. It pre-dated the logbook, so I don't have logs of my earlier meters (and I apparently didn't keep a paper log either), but it gets at least a million meters a year. A few updated parts over the years (PM5, seat, handle, foot rest) and minor maintenance.

On the BikeErg, I painted over the recessed numbers with white paint, then scraped them flush with a straight razor after it dried. Not perfect, but easy to read for quick changes for different users.

I also added an extension on the RowErg from the fan cage to bring the PM5 and my phone with ErgData closer to the rower, similar to currrent model, but retrofits aren't available for Model B for the arm.

Just wanted to jump in and say that I had considered doing this before... but never took the time or made the effort. Sharing the bike with my two kids has always been a bit of a hassle; we're all tall, but all different heights so were constantly fiddling with heights.

After seeing how great your job looked, I was convinced. Sat down this afternoon with some white oil paint and a couple of rags. Amazing. 100% worth doing. Only difference is that I painted and then immediately wiped excess off (instead of scraping once dry). Worked a charm with the recessed numbers.

Now it's clear as day which setting you are on. Should be easier for everyone.
