BikeErg Paint Peeling and Corrosion

Post by RR » February 2nd, 2020, 2:52 pm

I have had my BikeErg since 13 September last year.
I have used it regularly since then but with about a total of 8 weeks with no use during that time.
The paint on the handlebar bracket to the stem has started to peel.
The pedal cranks have also both started to get superficial corrosion on them.
The machine is wiped down with a dry towel after every session. I sweat heavily when I use it so always mop up as I train using a towel or a microfibre cloth.
Has anyone else got this problem.
The bike is in a room next to my Erg which is showing no such signs.

If you bought it new then contact the folks you bought it from. In Europe you get a two year warranty.

Hi Dougie,
Hope you’re well
Yep, email off to suppliers Incept Sport in Paris together with photos and full story.
Was just punting the question to see if it’s a one-offor something others have encountered

My pedal cranks are moderately rusty and there are a few other spots of rust here and there. I’m also a heavy sweater. I wipe the whole thing over after use, but not just with a dry towel. Usually use some type of multi surface cleaner to ensure all sweat and salts within that are gone.
