pm5 not connecting with hrm

I have a garmin hrm connects with bt, works fine with the pm5 on the row erg, but will not connect with the pm5 on the strengtherg. Just searches and says not found. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Factory reset the PM5 then update the firmware on it to the latest version.

I notice the latest firmware versions of the PM5 are also getting far more descriptive with the Error codes if it throws one rather than just a number which is great if you are in the business of repairing them.

Just had a 221 error to do with the Wireless ANT+.

Tried several things including the message that said take the batteries out for 1 minute and if that didn't work ring C2 with the serial number that was on screen and quote 886 or something like that.

Has to wrestle with it to clear the code.

I think think I've found the problem. The PM5 on the strengtherg is only looking for the BT connection. The Rowerg looks for both BT and Ant+. Mine isn't BT, it's almost 10 years old. So I may have to get one just for the strengtherg, since the 2 I have already are ant+
I'll email or call to make sure before I buy another hrm. thanks for everyone's input

Not a great fan of Bluetooth, its got better over the years but never had any issues with ANT+. I avoid Bluetooth where possible, always better to go with a wired connection where possible, Bluetooth is a bit of a last resort. Most chest HR monitors are dual these days, I wouldn't buy a Bluetooth only strap.
