My First Marathon :-)

Post by fleabane » January 25th, 2007, 3:46 pm

Hi All

Just wanted to jump up and down and say I've just done my first marathon 3hrs 30mins - no idea if thats good or bad but wanted to try and stay at 2:30 for the duration and just managed it  - mind you the last 3000 metres was hard work

Anyway enough waffling - just glad I could share it - hubby thinks I'm mad :D

Wow, that is great. Congratulations. My first marathon was around 3:30 too if I remember correctly (the longer they are, the harder they are).

 Wow! That's awesome! Especially considering how long you've been erging.

Just doing one is quite an accomplishment, and it is a very nice time.

Welcome to the marathon club. You will never feel the same about what used to be a 'long' workout again. My fastest fm was 3hrs 43 mins and I felt lucky to make that time.

Your time is awesome! Your hubby is just jealous.

Thanks all for such great words of encouragement and congratulations - very much appreciated and has made me grin whilst sat at my PC before I head off for work - with blistered fingers - lol

Warmest wishes

Don't forget to get your marathon mug from C2! They are very nice and it will make you feel good to remember your achievement whenever you use it. Bring it to work to remind yourself you're a winner on those tough days!

Did you enter it in Nonathlon? Not all the people do a marathon and you get extra points for doing all the events, so that gives you an advantage of sorts.

Congratulations!
