Getting the hang of it
Hi everybody. Just wanted to check in and let you guys know that I have gotten the hang of rowing. It took me a couple of weeks to really learn the form, but now I've got it. Although I haven't weighed myself, I feel like I'm getting tighter in my core. I am rowing :40 minutes per day (an average of 4 times per week) and my goal is to work up to an hour 4-5 times per week. I am averaging 24 spm(Yeah! I am learning!).
Anyway, I am a proud newbie and want all the other new rowers to know how do-able this is!
I still jump rope and work out with a medicine ball and free weights. Rowing makes me feel the burn and pump that I felt when I sparred and hit the heavy bag. I am glad to have this new activity in my life.
Row happy, everybody!

It will get even better as you get in better shape. It takes a while to get your muscles strong enough to really go for it.
I feel like I am finally getting to that point after 3 months.

Thank you for posting this. I've restarted rowing this week due to a running injury, i'm back doing short runs till i get my strength back and am keen to combine the two.

Thank you too, gives me something to go for because i feel so slow at present having not got a lot of upper body strength, but don't want to bulk up big time.
