Re: English Indoor Rowing Championships
Thanks for posting Alex, I’m keen. I’m rowing a half marathon on the river Ouse on Sunday 7th so will need to have a think about the logistics before committing.

Re: English Indoor Rowing Championships
Be great if you could get on board Anthony, it looks like there's a few team members going.
Slightly off topic, I lived in York for a few years, watched a lot of rowing on the Ouse (assuming you mean this one, I think there is a river Ouse in the south, too). Either way, a half marathon on the water sounds like a tough outing.

I’ve signed up for it. Will be easy traveling as it’s not that far.alex9026 wrote: ↑July 3rd, 2025, 12:57 amBe great if you could get on board Anthony, it looks like there's a few team members going.

It’s the great Ouse marathon run by Ely Rowing club. It’s just north of Cambridge. About 45 mins from where I live.
You know, 20km on the water is not as hard you’d think. For me, it’s harder on the erg physically, however that’s probably because my OTW technique is not a point where I’m able to deliver the same power. Also doing I’m doing it in a double which is significantly easier than a single. My doubles partner is a decent rower with strong endurance. He is also coming to English indoor rowing champs.
Really looking forward to it mate. Definitely catch you there!

Re: English Indoor Rowing Championships
I'll be there too. I just need to start 2k training ASAP.
It will be great to meet you both and also hopefully loads of other ergers that regularly compete. There seems to be a resurgence in erging competitions now that this is back, which I assume is due to Crossfit / Hyrox

Haha, as I was writing that I was thinking of a particularly brutal 10k row against the wind. It was not much fun!
