Obviously, my opinion is subjective, I am by no means an expert in this field, just a competitive fella that likes to punish myself!

A horse will ride until it drops, but these are horses that have been "broken" and are obeying their riders. It would be interesting to know how hard a horse pushes itself in the wild, especially when not running for its life! How true it is I don’t know, but was told that a human will only push itself to 5% of actual ability where a horse will go to destruction. The training we’d be put through was adapting yourself to push those boundaries.
