True if you are on a computer typing your name works just as well. Trying to do it on my phone was a lost too far.

Do that and I'll edit your name in the database. Play fair please. The CTC was built before smart phones were invented.

Now I get it! The salient bit is that hitting the load arrow to bring up the scroll of the dead and then typing name saves some scrolling. That can't gum up the works, can it? Thanks Piers.

That or changing your name to Aaran Aardvark.
BTW that trick works in all drop down menus useful for us in the UK when every country in the world is in the drop down.

Another impressive performance by Sub7 to take the September challenge. This puts a little daylight between themselves and FM.
With twenty virtual boats floated, FM had the highest participation last month.
Well done to both teams.
SkiErg has the challenge next month, FIRT in December and Free Spirits has the opener for 2017.

Regards,

Joe

sorry to leave you hanging Piers been away from the computer and your question has been lying dormant
There is a table that is managed by Joe above (on a "voluntary" basis that ranks the virtual clubs that have competed each month by number of boats and the number of months since the last time they had the choice. there are some allowances made for new clubs as well. joe announces the "winners" each month and the club that has won the right to choose the next challenge (3 months ahead). There are a few guidelines about how the challenge can be designed.
The clubs are chosen 3 months ahead based on the ranking of the sum of number of boats entered and twice the months elapsed to dilute the effect of the clubs that have a very large number of boats floated each month.

Thanks Lindsay, sounds a sensible way of choosing to prevent the group of teams choosing every time.

There's a magic formula developed by Joe Keating (Joe80) based on number of months since the last choice, number of boats floated can a couple of other criteria. It's been well discussed on the old defunct UK Forum and deemed to be as fair as we can get.

It appears to be a little less online than expected.
