I personally think that since December is nearly over, 8 days to go. It's late in the piece to make it official. How many current scores could be submitted with altered dampers. Maybe leave it off and in the future add it there from the start. That's if we want to include it. .

I personally don't think it's a issue. Just like stroke rate is open. Damper settings should be open too. Everyone has the option to do the same.

I suspect that since most folks have been rowing the CTC for 11 years they'll all know that adjusting the damper is discouraged.

The number of results where that has been done is somewhere between zero and one.

If Casey does it, it must be kosher but, alas and alack, I shall continue to soldier on without resort to.

Hello Guys,

I clearly remember the damper setting have been put on the table when there have been the rules changes after FIRT has had Anne Bourlioux rowed both for that team and rowpro and after we hav launched a huge amount of boats... (most of our members decided not to pay as much attention to this challenge since the rules have been changed)

You can clearly see on our forum the topic in french specifying this (I just translated those posted on ISS forum by Joe)...

see that page, end of the first post : http://frenchindoorrowersteam.weebly.co ... e-4128085/

this was edited the 04th of january 2015...

Brilliant. Thanks Kevin. I'll translate those back into English and put them in the first post on this thread.

- il est interdit de changer le facteur de résistance au cours d'un challenge is clear enough to me.

Hi Folks

The January CTC will be The Free Spirits 4 Cubed - 4 x 4 minutes with 4 minutes rest (per interval). First interval from a standing start. No restrictions on stroke rate.

For the avoidance of doubt, no changing the damper setting between intervals!

Another outstanding performance by Sub7 in December to win the challenge and float most boats. Well done!

BW Rowing have had an impressive second month, launching six boats and finishing 4th in the challenge.

Sub7 have the challenge for April. Empty The Tanks choose next month and Forum Flyers in March.

Regards,

Joe

Kevin, I've removed your email address from your posting as it's a sure way to catch some spam.

You've got a forum private message with your new password.

Current tables for the 2016-2017 CTC.

New teams will be awarded a challenge after three consecutive months of launching at least one boat. This won't happen automatically; captains must claim the right to a challenge either on this forum or the facebook group.
