Queensland IRC weekend of racing

The Queensland IRC is actually a 2 day "festival of the erg" really.
Numbers down compared to last year unfortunately for no obvious reason so not super competitive but fun - 2 days of talking erg without guilt.
Quite the community event with competitors from 7 to 91 and a number of adaptive heats as well. Organised with high school students as an event management project.
Some good performances - fastest were David Williams (48) and Haico Aaldering (49).
Dave (famous for his FM @1:43) did 6:18 for the 2k and Haico 6:26. Haico then turned the tables and got Dave in the 1k - 3:02 to 3:03. Dave has no 2k training at the moment preparing for a fast HM in July then is going to spend some time getting faster.
The amazing Vince home is 91 and did 2k 9:12.9, 1k 4:18.0 and 500 @1:58.9.
I have the habit of doing all the races - can't see the point of travelling all that way to watch others so there was a fair bit to do!
Saturday
2km 6:54.0 - a bit disappointed as first race and messed up the middle - hoping for around 6:50
4minutes = 1201m @1:39.9 - happier with that as nice and flat
500m @1:33 as part of a tandem mixed event with a lady in her 40s - we averaged 1:44 which was enough to win. The software averages the two and you stop when faster reaches 500.
Sunday
1000m 3:15.7 to start and quite happy with that
500m @1:31.0 taken fairly easy
1minute = 351m @1:25.0 - happy with that as still able to see 1:20 LP and give the young guys a fright
Relay 4x500m mixed (16y school boy and ladies 40+ and 50+) finished off 500 @1:33 with average of 1:48 which was a win as well.
