I'm pretty sure that what you're noticing in those posts that first caught your eye is folks writing in what to them is a foreign language, so they aren't quite as informal and relaxed as native speakers / writers. (or maybe a real human using a web translator tool because their written English isn't that great)
But these days you never know...

Well, 2001: A Space Odyssey (HAL 9000), and The Matrix series (Neo, et al), are decades apart. But I'll admit that I finally watched most of the The Matrix movies last year - 25 years after they were released!
