Dust, Headaches, Allergies on the Concept2

Post by cutle1 » June 4th, 2006, 8:21 pm

Hello. I have used my Concept2 for years now to cross train. While doing outdoor sports I never suffer from headaches or allergies, but for some reason I start getting a headache and I start feeling a little nauseous after a couple minutes of indoor rowing. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I love rowing, but this makes indoor training a drag. Could it be that the fan casing builds up dust? Any tips?

Help is appreciated.

John

Recently I moved my erg from a 2nd story spare room to the basement, and began experiencing bad effects, including what seemed to be spasms in my stomach/colon/abdomen area. I think in retrospect that it was foul air. I've been leaving the outside door open and running a fan whenever I'm down there and gradually the air seems to have improved and the symptoms have disappeared.

The same cellar air never seemed to bother me before, but apparently exercising on the erg caused so much more of it to get into me that it was a problem.

Maybe you can try moving your erg nearby a window, open the window, and also use a fan to get some fresher air.
