Christmas Eve "Row In the Dough"

Post by pstephany » December 15th, 2006, 8:44 pm

Hello All, I am new here, and a rowing enthusiast as well as an outdoor sport participant. I just wanted to let people know that our family is engaging in an exciting venture this Christmas Eve. I am rowing my first half marathon on this day in order to raise funds for our local food bank. If this is successful, I will definately be making this an annual event, marking each Christmas Eve with a Marathon to raise food bank funds. I hope that everyone's Christmas is wonderful, and that the season is good for all -- no matter what your Festival of Light may be.
Cheers,
Paul :D

2 days and counting

Well...
It is Friday and I am finished with my final rowing workout before Cristmas Eve. I am getting a little nervous for my half-marathon on Sunday :? -- any suggestions before the day? I am planning a pace of about 1:35/500 m, at about 24-26 rpm's.

Whew! A 1:35 split time for a half-marathon? I'm impressed! Good luck!

I didn't catch that blunder - that would be fast! lol
I meant to write between 2:25 and 2:35 for split time. I I can keep it down to 2:25 I will be happy.
Sorry 'bout that!

A Successful Row

Post by pstephany » December 24th, 2006, 9:34 pm

Well, I am tired but satisfied - I completed my 1/2 marathon in 1:39:55.7, with a split of 2:22. Our fundraiser has raised over $300 for the food bank, which is pretty good considering we "hatched" the idea about a week and a half ago.
Anyway, next year we plan to launch the fundraiser in November, with a Marathon!
